When one takes the
telephone and dial
certain numbers,
sometimes the words that
greet one’s ears are, “
You are in the queue,
please wait.” This makes
one think that there are
two kinds of queues, one
visible and the other
invisible. When one
stands in a queue at the
Railway Station, one has
his place in a clearly
visible queue; but when
one stands in the
telephone’s queue, one
cannot see who stands in
front of him or who
stands behind him; but
it is a queue as real as
the one at the Railway
Station. The reality of
the invisible queue
before the telephone
makes us think of
another invisible queue
in which all who have
lived in this world have
stood; it is the queue
before death; every man
born in this world has
had his place in this
queue, no matter whether
he is great or small,
rich or poor. Mighty
emperors like
Nebuchadnezzar and
Augustus Caesar and
great conquerors like
Alexander the Great and
Julius Caesar—all have
had their rightful
places in this great
march of humanity; they
all were born in this
world, given their
respective positions in
this grand procession
and they moved forward,
doing their deeds of
valour, perhaps unaware
all the while that they
were proceeding along
with millions of others,
in this great queue
before Death. This is
the only queue in which
one’s wait usually ends
rather with dismay than
joy. But it is to be
noted that there have
been quite a few who on
finding the end of their
wait in this queue felt
great relief and joy. It
is in the Bible and in
the world of
Christianity that we
come across this unique
class of people.
It is a historical fact
that it was the courage
and calmness displayed
by Christians who
suffered great
persecutions in the
Roman Empire in the
first three centuries
that made Emperor
Constantine feel a great
attraction toward
Christianity and was
thus led to accept the
Christian faith. The
great hope and assurance
about what happens after
death to a person who
has accepted Jesus
Christ as his Lord and
Saviour is summed up in
the verses: “There is
therefore now no
condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus”
[Rom: 8: 1], “Truly,
truly, I say to you, he
who hears My word, and
believes Him who sent
Me, has eternal life,
and does not come into
judgment, but has passed
out of death into life”
[John 5: 24]. The Word
of God declares that
those who put their
trust in Jesus Christ
have eternal life. It is
with the assurance of
having already received
eternal life that these
people stand in the
large, invisible queue
leading to the threshold
of death. Now, my dear
friend, you and I have
our respective positions
in this great invisible
queue stretching across
continents, countries,
provinces, towns and
villages and extending
over the whole world.
Being one who have
trusted Jesus Christ and
having been saved from
the eternal punishment
for my sins, let me put
this question to you:
Have you personally
accepted Jesus Christ
Who came into this
world, died on the cross
for your sins and rose
from the dead on the
third day, as your Lord
and Saviour and received
forgiveness of sins and
eternal life? If you
have not, please examine
this question further by
reading the booklet
“Salvation the Gift of
God” in the website:

and let yourself be
blessed by your Heavenly
Father Who loves you and
cares for you. I hope
you have welcomed this
message and you will be
glad to forward this to
others.
